Our articles are free to read, and we support this site in part through affiliate links.
What that means
Some links on this site, including links to MyHeritage’s DNA test and free trial, are affiliate links. If you click one and then start a trial, buy a DNA kit, or subscribe, we may earn a commission from MyHeritage. It doesn’t change the price you pay.
How we handle it
- Affiliate links are marked “Affiliate link” next to the button or link, and are tagged as sponsored.
- We write our guides first and add affiliate links where they’re relevant. A commission doesn’t decide which record sources we cover or how we describe them.
- We also mention services like AncestryDNA, FamilySearch, and 23andMe because readers ask about them. We don’t currently earn commissions from them. If that changes, we’ll update this page.
- DNA results and ethnicity estimates are starting points, not proof. We can’t promise what any DNA test or record search will turn up.
Our own products
Any guides, checklists, or other downloads we offer ourselves, including those hosted on Gumroad, are our own products. They aren’t affiliate products.
